TUFF GONG
---------
The Tuff Gong Story...In 1965, decades before artist
owned record labels became commonplace, an unknown
singer/ songwriter named Bob Marley started his own
label Tuff Gong, a name by which he was also known.
In those struggling days Bob and his wife Rita would
sleep in a small room given to them by Rita's aunt
Viola which served as their record shop by day and
their home at night. Endeavoring to get their music
heard Bob and Rita could be seen throughout Kingston
riding their bicycles while carrying their records on
their heads as they went from shop to shop selling
their music. Such inde-pendent vision was unheard of
in Jamaica back in the mid 60's and was a sign of
greater things to come for the young Tuff Gong.....

PRESS RELEASE
-------------
Reggae icon Ziggy Marley releases a full-length live
concert DVD on Feb 12, 2008. The Love Is My Religion
DVD, produced by Live Nation Studios, was taped live
at Los Angeles Avalon Theatre in December 2006. The
most extensive worldwide tour of his career that
wrapped in December 2007, the Avalon show and the
entire LIMR World Tour was heralded as some of
Marleys finest work ever.

Ziggy appears in rare form throughout the DVD's 19
tracks and nearly two hours of live footage. With his
voice and his band honed to precision after months on
the road, from the United States and abroad, the live
DVD captures the tours momentum in support of the
Grammy Award-winning album. During the 18 month tour,
Marley visited over one hundred and sixty cities across
the globe and was honored to be the first Reggae artist
to perform in Mainland China.

Featuring selections from his solo arsenal, as well as
Melody Maker hits and a few of his fathers classics,
Ziggy delivers the show of a lifetime. Cinematography
and production were given the utmost attention,
resulting in vivid imagery combined with stunning sound.
Viewers of the DVD will enjoy a front row seat to the
extravaganza as captured by an eight camera production
taped in widescreen with Dolby Digital 5.1 Audio.

Ziggy Marley remains true to the independent nature
instilled in him by his legendary father, establishing
himself in recent years as a solo artist and producing
his first independently-released projects on the Tuff
Gong Worldwide label.

He recently announced the re-release of the Love Is
My Religion album on December 4, 2007 which includes
live bonus recordings of Jammin, Dragonfly, and Look
Whos Dancin from the Avalon show. In a unique
independent distribution deal, Marley eschews the
traditional record industry formula, instead penning
a distribution deal between Tuff Gong Worldwide and
RYKO Distribution.

Tuff Gong was first founded in 1965 by Bob Marley,
with the vision of producing, distributing, and
promoting his music free from the constraints of
corporate label politics. In a time decades before
artist-owned record labels were commonplace, Marleys
vision was characteristically well ahead of its time.
Ziggy is realizing his fathers dreams.

A LITTLE ABOUT ZIGGY MARLEY
---------------------------
Born in Trenchtown, Jamaica, Ziggy Marley was surrounded
by the sights and sounds of the Jamaican recording
industry from a very young age. First accompanying his
father in the studio at a tender age, he soon joined with
his siblings to form The Melody Makers. The act enjoyed
two decades of successful touring and recording, netting
three Grammy Awards and worldwide renown. Ziggy has
contributed to a variety of soundtracks including 50
First Dates, Dora the Explorer, the PBS childrens show
Arthur, and Sharks Tale, in which he delved into acting
for the first time, playing the character of Bernie, the
Jamaican jellyfish. In addition to his skills as a singer,
songwriter and producer, Ziggy founded U.R.G.E. (Unlimited
Resources Giving Enlightenment), a non-profit organization
that benefits a wide range of charitable childrens causes
in Jamaica, Ethiopia and other developing nations. More
recently he has lent his support to both the Youth AIDS
and H&Ms Fashion Against Aids campaigns.
