The other rip was reencoded from the FLAC rip that showed up on torrents a few days before the other
group pred it. You’ll notice a differential in itrates only by one or two kilobits per second,
but it is still a differential used with the same encoder and preset. Your ears probably won’t be
able to tell the difference, but this release is for the people who still care about the integrity
of the scene. This is also not a shot at the other group, but we do understand how a supplier in the
group can cause your group to have a bad reputation.Drop him. He’s been known to supply bullshit and
fake rips over and over again.
In addition, this CD is sold in a flip case, not a jewel case. The scans are blurry and out of focus because the scans are not legitimate.
One last thing: echo nukers. Learn the scene rules please. Nuke according to dupecheck, or don’t nuke at all. In our Rome release, there are clear cut fadeouts, fade ins and silences in between tracks. It’s not a mix CD. Plenty of other bands (Sigur Ros, Boys Night Out, Godspeed You! Black Emperor) have similar blendings of tracks but are not ripped mp3/cue because they are not mix CDs.

Note: We consider ourselves at MP3 to be ahead of the game when it comes to audio quality. We prefer
to rip to LAME 3.97b because it yields better sound quality at a more efficient bitrate. However, the
scene is not yet prepared for 3.97b, as pzs-ng/glftpd have not yet been updated to detect the presets in
this new encoder. In addition to this, some groups have been taking advantage of using new LAME versions
or presets and have been sound shaping and altering bitrates to make re-encoded webrips appear as legit
releases. As such, we have decided to revert to an outdated version of LAME until the scene is prepared
for an update.’
